Mission and Vision

The Mukwonago Area School District operates with our vision:  Students, Staff, Community - Building Better Schools Together.  Our mission of Every Student a Graduate:  College and Career Ready is an embodiment of this vision.  Together, we believe that our students, staff, and community can ensure that our graduates are prepared for any future destination!

Our mission and vision is accomplished through the following:

  • High-quality instruction that is aligned to rigorous standards and fosters students' curiosity and a lifelong understanding and appreciation of self, others, and the world.
  • Exposure to a variety of content areas and concepts whereby all students learn to think, to know, to reflect, to observe, to imagine, to appreciate, to question, and to evaluate within a safe environment.
  • Educational options that effectively prepare students for a variety of relevant and innovative post-secondary pathways, including university study, vocational education, and the workforce.
  • Personal development focused on respect and honesty that equips students with the skills to think critically, solve problems, make sound decisions, cope with change, understand the importance of mental and physical wellness, and avoid potentially harmful situations.
  • Experiences that empower students to fulfill their civic responsibilities and apply their intellect to the challenges of citizenship in an ever-changing global society.

The end result shall be to inspire each student to achieve his or her full potential commensurate with his or her goals, opportunities, and abilities, recognizing this duty is shared with each student's family.

To focus our work on that which will best exemplify our mission and vision, our district has developed strategic objectives around student learning, personnel, and finance.

Goal 1:  The Mukwonago Area School District will achieve a top 10% position on the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction District Report Cards with each individual school also achieving a top 10% position on the School Report Cards.

Goal 2:  The Mukwonago Area School District will be a destination district for staff and residents by ensuring the responsible and efficient use of fiscal resources and building a supportive professional culture within and among all employees.
